§ 5-226. Responsible local agent/responsibilities.

  • (a)

    The responsible local agent shall be a person who may be a representative of a corporation, partnership, firm, joint venture, trust, association, organization or other entity, having his or her place of residence in the State of Indiana, who shall be designated by the owner as responsible for operating such premises in compliance with all the provisions of the City of Kendallville codes and ordinances and applicable state statutes. All citations and official notices of the city may be issued to the responsible local agent, and any notice so issued shall be deemed to have been issued upon the owner of record.

    (b)

    The responsible local agent shall also be responsible for providing access to such premises for making the inspections necessary to insure compliance with the terms of this article and all applicable codes and ordinances adopted by the City of Kendallville and applicable state statutes. The owner shall make sure that each responsible local agent maintains a current list of the names and contact information for each adult occupant and the number of children living in each tenant unit for which he/she is responsible.
