§ 5-228. Right of entry.

  • (a)

    Upon presentation of proper credentials to the occupants and after reasonable notice to the responsible local agent and occupants, the duly authorized representative may enter at reasonable times any building, structure or premises in the city and its jurisdiction to perform any duty imposed upon him and to confirm compliance by any owner under this article.

    (b)

    No owner or occupant or any other person having charge, care or control of any building or premises shall fail or neglect, after proper notice is given as provided in this section, to promptly permit entry therein by the duly authorized representative for the purpose of verification and examination pursuant to this article. If such entry is refused, the duly authorized representative shall have recourse to every remedy provided by law to secure entry.
